Goodwill Merchants to quit marketing, accepting huge household furniture donations

The Goodwill Merchants in southeastern Wisconsin and the Chicago metro areas stopped accepting furniture and large workout products donations as of Monday, company officers declared on the nonprofit’s website.

As of Dec. 1, these items also will not be bought at Goodwill stores in those people spots, the web-site reported.

Things no for a longer period accepted include desks, business office home furnishings, tables, dressers, chairs, stools, couches, pianos or organs and bookcases. The shops have also stopped accepting donations of massive workout machines.

For specific thoughts on what is acknowledged, donation attendants at every single retail outlet will be equipped to provide far more facts.

”It’s difficult to say ‘no thank you’ to a donation when these donations enable to fund Goodwill courses. Nevertheless, we do need to refuse some items for getting non-recyclable or that contains dangerous components. Other times, the product should be refused since it expenses a lot more to transportation, fix or refurbish than it can be bought for in our stores,” the site stated.
